Who We Are
Community Action for Rural Development (CARD) is a local Community Based Organization that has been in operation for the last 10 years. CARD actively works with local communities in Kakamega, Butere/Mumias, Vihiga and Malava districts and provides services as far as the Bungoma, Kitale and Nandi districts.
The Team.
CARD is managed by a team of dedicated staff who serve in different projects.
Programme Manager
Alfred Mmayi is the current Programme manager. He is in charge of daily activities at CARD. Heads the renewable energy campaigns featuring biogas project, Solar heaters and briquette making. He is also in charge of training and information sharing in the unique area of renewable energy.
HIV/AIDS
George Mutembula is in charge of the activities that CARD undertakes all aimed at fighting the
HIV/AIDS pandemic. Is well grounded in matters of HIV/AIDS and other issues related to disaster risk reduction. Is a polished trainer in this field.
Bee-Keeping
Manoah Mmasi is involved in daily operations that concern Bee-keeping. Is well versed with bee-keeping and has trained over 200 farmers in modern bee-keeping procedures.
Community Mobilization
Ben Musonye is charged with ensuring that all activities have community support. He is the chief mobilizer who lays foundation for other projects to function in the various communities.
CARD has a number of volunteers who give their services to the various activities run by CARD.
